Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 July 2026

The service

Makesite (a service of Durrbaum Mobile Technology Solutions, Cape Town) builds a custom, single-page static website from the brief you submit. The fee is R649, once — payable only if you choose to keep the site. There are no subscriptions and no monthly fees from us.

Preview, payment and claiming

  • We aim to send a live preview link within 72 hours of receiving a complete brief.
  • The preview is temporary and expires if not claimed. If you don't claim, you owe nothing.
  • After payment (processed by Paystack), you receive a claim link that transfers the site into your own free here.now account. From that moment the site and its code are yours.
  • One reasonable round of changes is included between preview and claim. Further updates can be quoted separately.

Hosting

Sites are hosted on here.now, a third-party static hosting platform with its own terms of service and policies. Hosting on its free tier carries no monthly fee. We don't control here.now and can't guarantee its uptime or continued availability; because you own the code, you may move your site to any host at any time.

Your content

You confirm that the text, images and logo you provide are yours to use, and you remain their owner. You're responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content on your site (including prices and claims about your business). Where we place stock photography, it is sourced from royalty-free libraries under their licences.

Form submissions

If your site collects RSVPs, bookings or enquiries, those submissions are stored with your site and belong to you. Handling them lawfully (e.g. under POPIA) is your responsibility as the site owner; our Privacy Policy covers what we do with data you give us.

What we're liable for

Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us (R649). We're not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or issues caused by third-party platforms (here.now, Paystack, your domain registrar). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under South African consumer law.

Fair use

We may decline briefs that are unlawful, deceptive, or that we're not equipped to do justice to. If we decline yours, you owe nothing and we'll tell you why.
